While we all desire love in one way or another, the truth is, we already have within us a love that cannot be lost. Have you ever wondered how many ways people find to show their love? It can be through gifts, time spent, together, and physical affection, but do these things create love? Can one create love any more than they can create silence? When all the sounds quiet down, we have found silence, just as when all the comparison, envy, insecurity, fear, and hate disappear we have found love.
While hoping to create a future intimately shared with another who equally understands, supports, and wishes to help manifest our dreams, desires, and goals for our lives, it should not be the one thing we place all of our hopes into. While we’re waiting patiently for this one person to come along, we might find a love for ourselves and our current situations that no longer requires the love of another, or we may find a love for ourselves and compassion for our current situations that can help us draw nearer to another when the moment is here. Through it all, we must remember that love is here now. Jaiya John has written this: “Spend your life loving, not seeking love. An ocean need not seek water.”
However, we are alive after all, and in being so, we are capable of encountering a vast array of feelings as we navigate being human and having relationships. When one begins to steal your heart with just one look, one touch, or one kiss, do not lose sight of the love that has manifested within you. It is this love that can allow you to see with honest eyes and to move with honest intentions. We must never be ashamed of falling in love. What we must stay keenly aware of is how much we are willing to give another that we haven’t got to spare.
